2010 GPE Summer Project Description!
Summer 2010 GPE plans include a return trip to Guatemala where our students plan to return to the satellite campus of the Universidad Del Valle de Guatemala “Proseur” to provide English education, teacher training, and lesson plan creation as well as curriculum development for the teachers at the University; with the large demand for English education and the limited amount of resources and training currently available, the teachers can provide little of either for the community. A group of 4-5 Masters level students from The Florida State University College of Education will provide teacher training and curriculum development for teachers at the University. A team of Undergraduate students will manage and implement the educational aspect of the project as well as provide for the installation of the educational materials & resources. GPE plans to supply the computers and educational software needed for such training. Furthermore, the team will collaborate with the rural communities at risk and implement small-scale sustainable development projects.
In Rwanda the GPE team of 5-6 undergraduate students plans to return to the Bukomero Primary School in Byimana to establish an educational advancement center that will provide computers and educational software as well as curriculum development for a faculty that faces overcrowded classes and serious lack of teaching-related resources. By doing so, both teachers and students will be able to significantly improve their proficiency in English as well as their overall academic achievement and growth.

GPE Shirts!

One of the biggest problems in attempting any project is usually funding. In order to help our organization run, we’re selling GPE shirts.
Price is $26 with shipping. $20 without. Please be sure your address is correct when sending payment. If you do not require shipping, remove it from the total and include how you’d like to receive your shirt in the comments. Proceeds go towards our Rwanda project.
